Mason Deal is a native of Dallas, Texas and has been drawing since the age of 9. After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Sociology, he studied at Art Center College of Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. He discovered his love of painting after moving back to Dallas, taking various art classes in abstract painting, illustration and water color. His day to day work now focuses on painting with acrylic and multimedia on canvas and reflects his skills in abstract painting, computer aided design and technical illustration.
Art has always been my pastime, my passion and my career. As a child the process of putting line and color to paper was my hobby. Over the years that process has had its way with me, leading me from hobby to career. Working fills me with a sense of accomplishment and integrity and has proven a most amenable vehicle for translating my inner vision to outer reality. My designs are inspired by forms found in sacred geometry, patterns and shapes, nature, divinity, the cosmos and the language of symbols. These forms can exact a 45 degree angle, produce a circle, or something as simple as a rectangle. This is not even considering the inclusion of vivid color, texture, collage or illustration. Using these basic forms, I work to represent the meeting of abstract painting with geometry through technical illustration and design.
